    Geekify Feedback privacy policy

    Overview

Geekify Feedback is a Chrome extension made by Geekeri ("we", "us"). Our clients use it to leave feedback on websites we're building for them. This policy explains what the extension collects, why, and what we do with it.

    Who can use it

The extension only works for people who already have a Geekeri project docs account, and only on websites that are part of one of their open site reviews. It does nothing on any other website.

    What we collect

    When you sign in:

    • Your email address. You enter it to get a sign-in code. We use it to check you have a project docs account and to show your name or email next to the feedback you leave.
    • A one-time sign-in code, which is checked once and not stored, and the session tokens our sign-in service returns. The tokens are kept in Chrome's storage on your device so you stay signed in.

When you send a piece of feedback:

    • Your comment and the severity you chose.
    • A screenshot of the area, element or text you pointed at, cropped from what's visible in your browser tab at that moment.
    • The text you selected, if you used the highlight tool.
    • The page address (URL) and where on the page you pointed, so we can find the spot and show a pin there.
    • Your browser's user agent string and window size, so we can reproduce layout problems.

The extension takes a screenshot only when you choose a feedback tool on a site you've turned it on for. It does not record your browsing history, track other clicks or keystrokes, or read pages you haven't turned it on for.

If you're offline when you send feedback, it's kept in Chrome's storage on your device and uploaded once you reconnect.

    How we use it

We use this information only to deliver your website project: to show your feedback in your project's Build Report, to fix what you've pointed out, and to let you and your team see its status. We don't use it for advertising, we don't build profiles, and we don't sell it or share it with anyone for their own purposes.

Where it's stored and who can see it

Feedback, screenshots and your account details are stored in Geekeri's project database and file storage, which run on Supabase. Supabase processes this data for us as a service provider. Your sign-in code email is sent through the same service.

Access is limited by account: you and the other people on your project can see your project's feedback, along with the Geekeri team working on it. Other clients can't. All data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.

    How long we keep it

We keep feedback and screenshots for as long as your project docs are active, so there's a record of what was asked for and what changed. You can ask us to delete your feedback, screenshots or account at any time by emailing [email protected], and we'll do it within 30 days unless we need to keep something for a legal reason.

To remove the data stored on your device, sign out in the extension or uninstall it.

Chrome Web Store user data policy

Geekify Feedback's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't transfer this data to third parties except as needed to run the extension (our Supabase hosting), to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.

    Children

The extension is meant for business clients and isn't directed at children under 13.

    Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for changes that affect how your data is used, tell you through your project docs or by email.
